Radnage - Back Home
We have had the worst day travelling ever! Granted we have only been on the road for a few months, but today was bad! We had issues emptying the tanks before we left, then just as it was starting to get dark, and still a way away from Radnage (http://www.bellavistacamping.co.uk/home/), the light switch on the Defender broke and turned all the lights off. This was not good, so we went as quickly as we could and just made it to site before the official “must have lights on” time! We did get flashed a few times though!! Then we got half way across the field to our pitch and we got stuck. Yes, I know we have a defender, but daddy isn’t a good driver, as I keep reminding you, so he got us stuck. Luckily, the lovely owner, Simon, came to our rescue. His defender couldn’t get us out either. So in the end, he used his big American pickup tuck to pull our Defender out of the mud, then he dragged Pebbles sideways on her hitch (we don’t have a jockey wheel so this was quite scary!), to get a better line away from the muddy bit, then we rehitched the Defender and let Simon tow Pebbles across to the pitch encase daddy got her stuck again! We had come back on Tuesday especially, so mummy and daddy could go to kickboxing. Without lights on the car to get there, they discussed running through the lanes, but they were quite scary, so daddy managed to hotwire the light switch so we had lights again! We were too late to go to nanny and granddads, so they had to go in their running kit, which everyone laughed at, but worse than that, we had to go with them and sit in the car freezing for hours. Honestly they don’t appreciate how much we don’t like the car. Anyway they seemed happy so we just shut up and put up, besides we get spoilt rotten when they come back to the car, so it’s worth it. We just like to make them feel guilty for leaving us! This is a picture of the alpacas in the next field. It really wasn’t that muddy daddy! What did you do wrong!!
On Wednesday, we got to see nanny and granddad, Molly and Daisy, as mummy and nanny went Christmas shopping so we got to stay with granddad all day and then we all had fish and chips in the evening, once daddy had got back from his customer visit. On Thursday we went back to nanny’s to do some laundry, cos nanny loves us taking our washing round there, and then on Friday Grandad’s op was cancelled so mummy went round again to do some more washing! Whilst she was there, she had a play taking photos of the birds, as nanny and granddad have lots of birds in their garden.
On Saturday we went running with all of our friends and then popped to nanny’s to pick some washing up….there’s a lot of washing going on this visit! Then mummy and daddy had a kickboxing Christmas party so we waited in the car whilst they went socialising. Luckily there was a curfew on the campsite so they couldn’t stay too late, but they seemed to enjoy catching up with everyone! When we got home we wanted lots of cuddles and even scratchy had a cuddle with daddy as I wouldn’t let him share mummy’s lap!
On Sunday we went to Nanny’s to see Harley & Belle and to help Nanny with a few chores. Then on Monday daddy had more customer meetings, so we went to see nanny and granddad and on Tuesday daddy had more meetings, so we went shopping with mummy and to the opticians and a customer meeting, and then we went to nanny and granddads whilst mummy and daddy went kickboxing. Mummy got to see her favourite chinchilla’s at the customer meeting
So it’s Wednesday now and we are moving on today, but before we attempt to get off the field, mummy went and got some new tyres on the car as daddy was blaming them for his poor performance getting onto the field! Then we said goodbye to the alpacas
and the sheep that the alpacas protected, yes they are fighting at the back!
and mummy tried to get some photos of the red kites, but she was rubbish
so she took a photo of a plane instead! Apparently it moved slower so she could capture it better! Anyway, time has come for us to move site, we are heading north to the Peaks this time, so until next time, love and licks, Rosie xxx
