Gower - With Nanny & Grandad
Hello everyone, it’s me Jim! Rosie was taking so long to write this blog, I thought I’d do it….how hard can it be?? We went here….here’s a pic….here’s a pic of me……see you next time…..see, simples! So here goes……We were racing nanny and grandad to see who could get to Gower first……we were first across the border
We headed straight down to the beach as soon as we had all pitched and I had a good run with my buddy Daisy, then we all went back for a BBQ which was yummy, but daddy failed miserably, yet again, so grandad had lots of reasons to take the mickey out of him all holiday! Oh the shame!
On Thursday, there were some shopping chores that needed doing and then we all went down to the main part of Oxwich Bay for a walk on the beach
On Friday we went for a run in the morning, but nanny and grandad didn’t fancy that. Molly and daisy were too tired too!
They livened up though when we went to the beach, although the weather wasn’t so nice today
Daisy gets so wet…..she’s weird!
Then we went back and me and Daisy played a lot and annoyed everyone!
It was sunny again on Saturday, so after a relaxing start….Molly nicked daddy’s chair…haha!
….we headed down to Oxwich bay with the Kayaks. Yes grandad has a kayak too but he doesn’t take Molly and Daisy out on his. It was all going so well…..we had gone out a long way to see grandad and it wasn’t too bad. Then on the way in mummy said we had to surf in, which sounded fun, however, the kayak turned at the last second and we were all tipped over. The funniest bit though, was grandad saw us start to tip and came to help, but he got tipped over too!! We were all soaked. Mummy made us get back in though, something about getting back on the horse?? I don’t see no horses!! Anyway we went back out and surfed in again and this time stayed upright! As a reward, we were allowed to go for a run on the beach. Eventually we headed back home for to dry off and clean up and had another bbq!
On Sunday, we went to see some rubbish craft fair where someone kept hassling mummy to buy some special dog food, but the woman didn’t understand we can’t sign up for regular deliveries when we are always travelling! She even came out to the car to hassle us! Then we went to the Bluegrass festival at the Gower Heritage Centre which was fun, but not sure everyone liked us barking instead of clapping. We wanted to join in!
Whilst we were there we had a look around at the animals and the old machinery. Mummy and daddy liked the woollen mill and bought some wool to try and make things. Looked more like something to play with to me!
When we got back, we went for a walk on the beach as grandad and Daisy went back to the Bluegrass festival, and Molly came with us.
On Monday we didn’t do much other than a walk on the deserted beach!
Tuesday was mum & dads 13th Anniversary, so we started the day with a run on the beach (daddy knows how to spoil mummy!) and then went to Rhosilli. After a walk on the beach there, we had some lunch in the pub which was yummy
On Wednesday we went for a walk on the beach and then we all went kayaking again. Unfortunately the kayak didn’t inflate properly as it was twisted, and it kept feeling like we were going to capsize. It was also very hot and daddy started to feel sick so we came back in and played about on the beach instead
On Thursday we went for another run in the morning and then grandad decided to see if Daisy would sit in the washing basket if he strapped it to his kayak
Then mummy found one of Rosie’s carriers and grandad tried daisy in that instead cos he wants her to go out with him. I think she will just get in the way when he does his fishing, but he seemed keen to try it!
Then we headed down to the beach where Rosie decided to have a paddle
There was quite a nice sunset that night
On Friday we went exploring to other beaches on the Gower but the only one we wanted to stop at, had kitesurfers so we gave up. We all know what Rosie is like with kitesurfers! So we went back and had a walk on our beach instead. It was lovely, and our last walk as we were leaving the next day
On Saturday, we went for a quick walk along the coast path to see the beach from above, one last time
And the view to the three cliffs
Then we packed up and said our goodbyes. Nanny was very upset but we were going home after the weekend, so it wouldn’t be long before we would be round to see them again, probably with all the washing!! Until next time, love & licks Jim xx
