Nanny & Grandad AND BEACHES!! – Gower, South Wales
This time we arrived at a bigger campsite with lots of people and dogs, but no other cats, and when we got there, nanny and granddad were there with Molly & Daisy. That was a lovely surprise. We camped next to them and it was such fun. Jim and Daisy like to play, a lot, and molly and me just sit there and watch the youngsters wear each other out.
There were lots of walks and beaches and we went in the sea and everything. It was such fun. We went in nanny’s caravan at night when it got cold, and we were even allowed up on the sofas because I have big brown eyes that nanny can’t resist! Even Molly and Daisy were getting in on the game. Sometimes there was no room for the humans, or Jim cos he’s dumb and stayed on the floor!
Daisy thought it was hilarious to keep taking our water bowl and playing with it, mummy didn’t think it was funny though. Every time mummy filled the water bowl up for us, Daisy would come over and pick it up, consequently emptying said bowl all over the grass and her! She seemed to enjoy this game, although it didn’t catch on, I can’t think of anything worse than getting wet!
We went to a place called Worms Head, which turned out to be quite ironic as there were warning signs about snakes! Nanny didn’t like this and made sure we all kept to the paths. We couldn’t get across to the worm though as the tide was in. lucky that…it looked like quite a rocky and wet walk across, so I was pleased! The views were lovely and we had a picnic, which meant lots of treats for us!
It was mummy and daddy’s anniversary on Sunday, so we went out without nanny and granddad. Apparently they should spend the time together, but obviously we came as part of that package! We climbed a big hill above Rhosilli beach and then walked back along the beach. Mummy wasn’t very happy coming down the hill though as she fell over three times and we got the blame! However, it was lovely weather so we went for a paddle in the sea which cheered her up!
The next day daddy went away and we were on looking after mummy duty. It wasn’t too bad though as nanny and granddad took some of the burden too. It was an early start taking daddy to the train station and when we got back we went to the Mumbles with nanny and granddad, and mummy and granddad had fish and chips….very nice it was too!
Then there was a huge storm, and we don’t like rain, so we made a bit of a fuss, but then realised it wasn’t worth it, so we went to sleep in nanny’s caravan. Mummy and granddad had to take the awing down from nanny’s caravan during the storm. They got very wet. Mummy had tried to warn granddad of the wind speeds the day before but granddad thought mummy’s computer had gone funny. It was quite scary as we were on a cliff in 70mph winds. Pebbles (mummy’s name for the airstream) coped with the wind and rain very well, you hardly knew there was a storm outside!
Whilst daddy was away, we went back to Rhosilli beach with nanny and granddad, and we played on the beach again. Whilst we were there we found some shipwreck that looked like the Loch Ness monster according to granddad. Then we went to the pub and got some chips…yummy! We are getting spoilt whilst daddy is away.
Whilst daddy was away……we played on the beaches a lot….
Saw some nice sunsets whilst having BBQ's…..
and even saw a nice butterfly….
….then eventually, one night, quite late, granddad took mummy and us on a long journey in the car and we met daddy and brought him back. That was a late night. The next morning the sun was out and we went for a run on the beach and then we had to say goodbye to nanny and granddad and molly and daisy, as we all packed up and moved on again. That was very sad and mummy and nanny cried…a lot! It was a lovely couple of weeks and we can’t wait to do it again soon. Love & Licks, Rosie xxxxx
