Berneray – with Nanny
Having taken the ferry from Leverburgh to Berneray, we headed to a lovely spot to wild camp.
Mummy and nanny headed out to do a quick spot of food shopping and then we went for a run on the beach, whilst nanny walked, although apparently she was practicing running and rather enjoyed it. Next time she might come running with us!
On Saturday, the promised storm came in, and it was really rather wet and windy. We managed to find a brief break in the weather to go and have a play on the beach
The water was surprisingly very calm, but daddy said you always get the calm before the storm. I thought we were already in the storm Daddy!
Oh I was wrong, the storm got really bad Saturday afternoon and into Sunday so we decided to stay put for another night and not risk moving in the high winds. The waves were really picking up now, but the rain had eased on Sunday, so we had a windswept walk on the beach. Mummy made a silly mistake and wore her shorts, not realising that the wind would cause the sand to sandblast her legs! She was not very happy!
Later on, the sun decided to come back out and we had another walk on the small beach
On Monday, you hardly knew there had been a storm, although the wind was still quite breezy
We went for a walk on the beach with nanny and the waves were still quite big.
I was being a right pickle though, according to mummy, so we went back and decided to move to North Uist. Until next time, Love & Licks, Rosie xxx
