Against all the travel advice, we headed out to Carmarthen for the week, to a quaint little site with lovely animals but not so nice facilities (http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/campsites/uk/dyfed/carmarthen/churchhousefarm1). We couldn’t pitch near the facilities so we were going to be really tight on fresh water, or have to move Pebbles to fill up. We had picked a good route to get here though as we didn’t have any issues with the wind, other than when two Arctic’s decided to overtake us on a single carriage A road, that caused some sway, I can tell you! We decided we would look to move again after a few days, as we would have to move Pebbles anyway to fill and empty the tanks. On Tuesday we realised we had a problem with the Expofenders brakes so took her to the local garage. We walked round Carmarthen for a while and got totally soaked, only to find that none of the pubs would let us in and we were really fed up. When we got back to the garage we found out that the brakes weren’t going so well and we had to get a lift back to the site in a very nice mans van, as they needed to keep her for longer.
As we didn’t have the car on Wednesday we stayed home and just visited the donkeys. Even Scratchy decided he would like to go for a walk, so mummy took him out to see the chickens and ducks, which really tired him out
We got the Expofender back late on Wednesday, so we couldn’t go anywhere. So on Thursday we went to Pendine sands and had a whale of a time playing on the beach and then daddy made pancakes for dinner
On Friday we started the day by saying hello to the lovely donkeys and little horses
Then we went to the beach at Llansteffan and that was massive. We played for hours, although mummy did catch me on camera attacking Jim…oops
She did manage to get a nice photo of me running free on the beach though
and one of Jim lolloping along!
Then on Saturday we decided to head off as we had to empty the tanks so we went and said goodbye to our friendly donkeys,
and even the chickens came to say goodbye
so we are off on the road again, heading to the Cotswolds for a few days before heading back home. Until next time, love and licks, Rosie xxxxx
