Whimple for New Year
So we arrived at a site we hadn’t been to before in Dorset (http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/campsites/uk/devon/nrexeter/rewebrake), and it seemed nice enough with lots of grass for us to walk and play in. We had arrived quite late, and being December it was too dark to explore, so we just had cuddles instead. On Thursday we headed to Brascombe beach which was a long way down country lanes, and when we got there it had a height restriction car park so we didn’t fit in! So instead we headed back to the donkey sanctuary and went to the beach from there.
It was a beautiful beach and it was Bess’s first time on a beach
She did really well and we played ball lots
Then we crossed back over the stream, or rather I crossed over it….jimmy went through it…dumb dog!
And we headed back to the donkey sanctuary before it closed, but most of the donkeys had already gone to bed
On Friday we did a lot of chores so we just walked round the lovely site and the local woods for a bit
Saturday was New Year’s Eve and one of my worst days of the year thanks to fireworks! In order to make it up to me, mummy and daddy took us all to Peak Hill and took the coastal path to Tortoiseshell Rocks beach. It was a long way down!
it was a lovely beach and we played ball lots
When we got home we played lots of loud music all night as the fireworks were really bad. Mummy had deliberately picked somewhere away from civilisation to try and minimise the firework stress, but it turned out a neighbouring farm was having a party as well as many others as they went on all night. I was very tired in the morning
It was all of our birthdays today though so we had a lazy day in bed and a gentle walk round the woods. I am the grand old age of 11, Jim is 6 and Bess is 1! Happy Birthday to Us!!
On Monday we went back to the Donkey Sanctuary and the beach and saw one of the horses on the way to the beach. They are very curious!
We played ball again….we do love playing ball and when there are people around it keeps us distracted apparently! Although I’ve been caught out in this photo growling at Bess!
So we played lots and lots!
Then we went back to see the donkeys before it closed again! We got there earlier this time!
Tuesday was back to work, so we just went for a walk in the woods
And Scratchy helped mummy with her blanket she was crocheting
Wednesday was move day, so we packed up and headed off by midday. We weren’t going far, just into Devon I think! Until next time, love and licks, Rosie xxxx
