‘These three paintings all share the common theme of gender expression as a female. I love to highlight my own personal experiences as well as other women’s experiences. From a painting about women being objectified as a “piece of meat” , to a simple symbolic sign about women’s rights, to bold playful sensual lips, I get to highlight the different experiences of being a women. A lot of my work is done in neon paint and includes painted neon signs because it feels like the most bold, basic, symbolic way to get any point across which is key to my work. I also enjoy the art making process where I layer paint and resin to get a painted-college depth affect.”
