I am an artist, born in 1991, currently based in Zurich. My work touches upon the limits of humanity in my subjects and emphasizes on the fragility and ambiguity of the human condition. Through abstraction, I attempt to bring to light the contradictions concealed beyond physicality, hence dealing within the realm of thought, memory, and pathos. I find my inspiration in the silent and ordinary experience of everyday existence, which I transpose into a foreign context, confronting it with its inconsistencies and weaknesses. The work presents itself primarily in the form of paintings and collages, which usually derive from an instinctive sketch.
The portrait series "Three studies for a dissappearance" is depicting silhouettes meant to remain anonymous, generic in its facial features and expressions. Together they form the paradigm of the forgotten poet, a voice lost in the mists of time. “The fog” appears defined and specific, a composition of geometrical shapes that penetrate human consciousness, rendering it artificial. The work presents itself in the form collage, acrylic painting and drawing.
