A Middle Path on Blocking
Oh, I'm all for blocking, generally. I do it myself and I encourage other people to do it. I'm always surprised when people take it personally.
I do wish that it worked slightly differently. That is, if I block someone I don't want them on my threads and I have no intention of visiting theirs. The problem arises on third-party threads. It's difficult to follow some discussions on the threads of mutual friends.
I think it should work more like real life. I won't invite you to my house. I won't go over to your house. But if we meet at a mutual friend's party, or at the grocery store...well, there we are. We can interact or ignore each other. But I think we should be able to see each other.

If not the only blocking option, at least a middle path.
More often, I just prefer they stay off my property, and, well, turnabout's fair play.
