This is something that has been bugging me all week, and I want to ask it, because I want to make sure my expectations aren't unreasonable.
Say you borrow someone's car, and while you are borrowing it, you get a flat tire. Is it reasonable to expect that you would:
a) Make sure to quickly put a spare on and return the car as soon as possible to avoid further damage, and say "sorry that happened" and let the owner of the car deal with the repair
b) Take care of getting the tire repaired and incurring all costs yourself
c) Have a discussion as soon as possible to come to a mutual agreement about your level of responsibility for fixing the tire
d) Some other solution.
I want to be a good lender/borrower of things, but I also don't want to take or expect too much responsibility from the people I loan to/borrow from...
