Note: Sorry that this has been automatically categorized as "Photography" in the Discover section. @ello deemed me to be a photographer, and then I go and confuse everything by making a painting!
Probably the single most important thing you can do as an artist is take an idea to completion. You have to FINISH something. I've been guilty of letting unfinished work pile up, but more typically in the music composition realm than anything else. I need to work on that. On a positive note, no sooner did I finish the layout and publication of my first book of photographs (http://www.magcloud.com/browse/issue/1199163?__r=712297&s=w), I decided it was time to dive into oil painting with mixed media, as it's something I've always wanted to do. I'm not even sure if this particular piece is finished, but one of the great things about the digital world we now live in is that every step of the process can be preserved and turned into its own finished work. Even if I add more paint, I'll always be able to print this version. (thanks for your comments @brianmichaeljones!)
