Serigrafia on fabric
For 2 and a half years, i've been leading a work mainly based on the "colonization of mind and body through medias". A name given by the female artist Daniel Dean, that I find really interesting.
Goddess'map is a serigrafia on fabric, which also takes its inspiration from the artist Jean Pierre Attal, where just like hil my goal is to create an urban landscape.
A landscape made from pics found on the internet, that questions diverses notions such as infobesity (Being daily submerged by overflowing informations) or the effect of an overexposure beauty standard.
My will is to see how the importance of modeling figures or new goddesses such as Kim K, Kylie Jenner, Beyoncé or Rihanna, have influences over a large part of the current young generation. How it leads them to copy their aesthetic.
A way to show how, through medias, a certain standard of beauty is conveyed. A physical or cultural reappropriation with the same body shapes (harmonious forms) that tends to forget the very story of the black comer.
Finally, I want to understand how the aesthetic of Callipyge and Hottentote Venus have been perpetuated.
