BIG GIRL ROCK! Navigating a Fat Life is a new #zine #series about a topic closer to me than skin: existing, living, and resisting as a #fat woman of colour. This first issue, BEGINNINGS, is a #comic #essay on the trials and tribulations of growing up fat and how a fatphobic environment warped my ideas of #food, eating, self-image and belonging, but also influenced the beginnings of a writer’s consciousness, #gender exploration, and #feminist empowerment.
BIG GIRL ROCK! was written, drawn and produced for and during the Cup Doodle Project, a 9-week comic #workshop and #residency program for #Asian #cartoonists.
