What’s up Ello? We are moving the #productupdate to Tuesday. They used to be on Thursday but sometimes drifted to Friday. Moving them up in the week should ensure that more people see them and know what we are up to.
A new version of the iOS app just hit the store yesterday. 1.18 includes a whole new Discover experience. Tapping the Discover icon now takes you to a grid of all our categories. Once you select a category, there’s now a slick new subnav to help you easily and quickly change categories.
We also moved the grid/list toggle to the header in all streams. Now you can switch views without having to scroll all the way back to the top.
Another profile enhancement we’ve had in the works is now live (for web and Android, iOS coming soon): you can add a location to your profile. Your location let’s your fellow creators know where you reside, or are residing for the time being. In the future, we will tie location to the Hire and Collaborate buttons, making it easier to find creators near you.
Head to your settings page and fill out your location.
P.S. You probably know, but as a reminder: Ello does not collect or sell any of our user’s data. We won’t do anything creepy with your location data, we promise.
Not For Print Available for Pre-order
Ello is proud and excited to announce Not For Print (NFP), Issue 01 – Censorship, a quarterly print publication designed to bring heightened visibility and new opportunity to Ello’s community members. NFP is about taking Ello’s internet culture to the printed page and giving credit where credit is due.
Each edition of NFP will address a unique theme evocative of Ello’s current state of mind. Issue 01 focuses on the theme of “censorship.” We want to see who’s pushing the limits, challenging the mainstream and making work that says something special.
Issue 01 – Censorship is now available for pre-order (20% off) at notforprint.co. We are printing a limited number of copies, so pick yours up while you can.
