I've found that almost no one I'm friends with elsewhere... stuck with @Ello. Early on in Ello's history I was a huge evangelist. I was trying to convince people that the perfect place for "creative" people had been created. When I shut down my community I'd been running for 8 years or so on the now dead Ning platform - I encouraged everyone to join here.
We created the @elloambient / #elloambient community. I loved it - it was awesome. But no one I knew enjoyed it. Ello was still in it's infancy - it was different - not all the features we take for granted now were working yet.
I finally gave up trying to convince people how cool Ello was and just started enjoying my new friends inside Ello and my friends outside Ello elsewhere.
Fastforward a bit and I got burned out on just about everything social media related ... and pulled back from a ton of stuff. I'm now back on Ello - and happy about it. And I'm fully enjoying it. I'm on facebook mostly for family and a few friends and some miniature painting groups. I belong to a small miniature forum called WAMP which I like very much. And that's it.
So the really nice friends I've met here on Ello over the last couple years... thank you for sticking around. I'm back and have no plans on leaving.
p.s. I don't actually have THAT MANY FRIENDS... the diagram is exaggerated for illustrative purposes. ;-)
