The architectural and landscape design Memorial Park emerged from the "National Competition of Ideas" promoted by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Buenos Aires, conducted in 1998, of which won the study proposal Baudizzone, Lestard, Varas Ferrari and Becker.
The design respects the environment and interventions seek a balance between the natural landscape and the presence of the city with its infrastructure and recreational uses.
The Monument to the Victims of State Terrorism was designed as a cut, an open wound on a grassy hill stripped of any other element. The landscape intervention and plotting recreate the one hand, the effort to build a more just society and, second, the wound caused by the violence of the state. The choice of location for its location also holds a deeper meaning in line with the facts seeks to recall.
