Espoo Old Church, images taken 2012, before restoration. Church was build 1485 -1490, it´s one of the oldest stone churches in Finland. Before build material of churches had always been wood.
Decorations were covered with chalk in 18th century. Cover was removed in 1930s´. Painter was no Michelangelo, but skillful craftsman. Composition throughout church is in balance and details are done with care. I hope I could take new images after renovation is completed. I spite of not religious person myself I do admire old religious art.
