The cyborg are essential elements of Donna Haraway’s essay “A Cyborg Manifesto”, which had a formative influence on cyberfeminism movement. As beings of living and non-living matter consisting substrates, being neither female nor male and not categorized into being fully machinic or completely human, the cyborg are characterized by ambiguity that averts conventional categories of identities and thereby become unrestricted, utopian, fluid hybrids.
