Watch These Murals Come to Life
We've really enjoyed watching the murals of Sergiy Tsimbaliuk, Mark Walters, and Curu Miyuki Okada work on their murals at the Cook's Club hotel in Crete. Check out the GIFs below to see what goes into creating a large-scale art piece from start to finish. In partnership with Talenthouse.
Check out Sergiy Tsimbaliuk ("Normski")'s striking image of a girl wrapped up in a beach towel. His use of Cook’s Club brand colours is very bold - a real stand out feature on the wall.
See both of Mark Walter's pieces, which are both instagrammable and make people smile. Making use of his typography skills with the inclusion of the quote “YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE” on the wall was an uplifting and fun to coincide with the hotels brand.
And finally, have a peek at Curu Miyuki Okada's mural. Curu was was very motivated by this opportunity and was inspired by Japanese Novelist Haruki Murakami who makes reference to Crete in his novels “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle” and “Crete Kanou”. The dolphins in the piece draw on the dolphin frescoes on display at Crete’s Knossos Palace, and also reminded her of the Dolphin hotel in “A Wild Sheep Chase” by Haruki Murakami. She also added in the delphinium as not only is it her favourite flower, but it also derives from the Ancient Greek language.
