Hi there! I'm @jdarnold and I'll be curating this Community called @elloboardgames. I'm a fanatical boardgamer and have been since the early days of "modern" gaming in the late 70s. I used to play a ton of wargames, from both Avalon Hill and SPI, but I don't seem to have the time, patience or brainpower that I used to for them. Nowadays, it's mostly Euros (tending to be on the heavier side) and solitaire games. My most recent games played include Russian Railroads, a pretty involved Worker Placement game and Mage Knight, a pretty remarkably complicated Deck Building / Exploration / Dice Rolling game.
I get together with friends maybe every few months to play 4-6 player games. I have a friend over every Wednesday evening and we play two player games. A friend hosts a weekly gaming get together but I haven't made it over in far too long. I still hold out hope that I can get my 2 daughters to play boardgames with me again some day!
So let's talk games. Games you play with your kids, your friends, and yourself. Simple ones, hard ones, roleplaying ones and timeless classics.
This is Mage Knight, set up for two player game. I also love playing it solitaire.
