Hey so I've been working on prototypes for some new ideas I've had lately and would love to get your feedback! Let me know what you think~
Project #1, Proto #1
Being the first one I made, his wire base is a bit more rough (wires crossing over one another), but overall he's fully capable of standing on his own and the legs are entirely movable.
Project #1, Proto #2
His base is a bit more streamlined and maintains the same characteristics in the legs; however, his standing legs are more even in length, whereas Proto #1 had all different sizes.
Plus, Proto #2 here has two extra long legs for feelin' out his environment and grabbing things, haha.
My initial idea for these guys was to have them be little figurines based off of a squid/virus motif, but I'll be coming up with a fancy name soon (later post) and give them a backstory.
Project #2, Proto #1
Same concept as the above pieces, but this one is made with a thinner gauge wire and cannot stand. I was thinking of making jewelry versions of these guys, turning the above into either a brooch or a necklace; however, the feedback I've gotten so far is that the wires may just be a hassle and get in the way. (ie: getting tangled in hair, caught on jackets, etc) Thoughts?
Project #3, Proto #1
Lastly, I'm getting back into making dirigibles, something I first started out doing in 2012 when I launched my jewelry. I used to cut off the wires protruding for the bottom of the radio tube, but I've instead with this design wrapped a thin gauge wire around it. The propeller can indeed spin.
My first models were made into necklaces and brooches, but with the dirigible adjusted landscape style (the above photo being portrait style). I'm thinking of doing both, but which sounds better to you?
Any feedback you can offer is greatly appreciated, thanks so much everyone!
