For those who don't want to watch the whole hour long lecture, Dr. Zubrin talks about the methods we could use to get to mars, and, more importantly, that getting to mars is the most direct method of getting to mars. As opposed to building a lunar base first or another project like that.
Dr. Zubrin's main argument is that the only way NASA can reach mars within a decade is to abandon a technology-driven program. Instead, we should take up a single goal and let the technology rise from that.
