I ran away to the sea,
because I don't want to feel.
My bare feet sink into the sand as I walk toward the waves.
One foot in front of the other, sand crumbles as I step.
The ice-cold water sends a surge of adrenaline throughout my whole body as it touches the tips of my big toes.
Piece by piece, I remove every layer of my clothing,
carelessly throwing them to the ground.
Slowly I walk into the frozen waves.
Shivers ran up my spine as the water goes from my ankles to my knees.
Deeper and deeper and deeper into the water, I walk.
Goosebumps cover my body; nipples are hard.
The cold is almost unbearable, but I take the plunge and dive headfirst.
I no longer feel,
I am finally numb.
