This has been out for some time now, but yesterday I listened to Kruder & Dorfmeister's K&D Sessions and enjoyed the fuck out of it, so what gives? Am I rite?
Tosca are Dorfmeister (from Kruder & Dorfmeister) and Rupert Huber, they have two classics: 1997's Opera, and Suzuki here. Thing is, they sorta fucked everything up afterwards and none of their later records comes even close to these two guys...
Which makes this reissue a fine choice, also: it's called Suzuki cause of Zen master Shinryu Suzuki, so you know what to expect. Just don't call it trip hop, to be fair (and as I've already told you), Tosca did end up doing generic trip hop (as per the Hotel Costes compilation usage of the word), but this was far superior than most of their peers at the time.
You can geddit here.
