It was a stone slab decorated with curious geometries, undeciphered. Somewhere in the past, long after its creation, it had been labelled the Surface of Venus. Theoretically, a precise combination of elements was needed. The ash of a tree. The blood of an animal. Rainwater. Lightning. Then, life would transpire from stone. Vast, primeval life.
