An Excerpt of my current 30 day writing challenge
This is an excerpt from the story I'm writing. I've got this thing I'm doing #30daysofwriting or a #30daywritingchallenge which is basically a self-imposed nanowrimo prep. I'm on day 14 and just about to start writing on this one tonight. I'll post my numbers after I get tonight's entry completed but just for fun I wanted to post this...
Simonson watched me dress in my tattered undies and a stained maxi dress with a weird look on his face. “If you believe in any kind of god then you need to pray.”
“You think I haven’t prayed before? That shit don’t work, if it did, you’d be dead.” He seemed shocked to think I’d prayed for his death but he shouldn’t have been. It wasn’t like we had any kind of connection. He had sold me into sex slavery to satisfy his debt and he didn’t deserve any kindness. He held my eyes for a few heartbeats then he sighed and shook his head then left.
It's just one little scene but it sets the tone for what I am writing. Thus far I've not done ANY editing. I'm doing as much writing as I can stand each night. My goal is to do exactly what I need to do in November for nanowrimo. I've failed 3 years prior and usually skip out on the 7th or 8th day so I've at least become twice as successful as my last failure. Wait. Oh. Yeah. Sometimes the truth is savage when you actually write it down and read it out loud.
So...anyone else doing nanowrimo this year? I'm looking forward to it and I'll get it this time.
As always - thanks for taking the time to read what I write on here. Any constructive criticism is welcomed. I'm still posting on wattpad with the story Hearts Blood https://www.wattpad.com/story/78468500 under BayaJack so you can find me there and follow or comment
