Story idea: With the discovery of Earth's "bigger, older cousin," I wonder what it would be like if everyone in the world had a personal planet that was created specifically for them at the moment of their birth. The planet would be designed to only support plant life and the life of the individual for whom it was made, meaning the person would always be the only human on that planet and it would remain so until the planet's or the person's demise. We could either live out life here on Earth Prime, or we could opt to move to our personal planet at any point and time in life. The only catch is that once you leave Earth Prime, you can never come back; it would essentially be self-exile.
With all of the shootings, police brutality, racism (actual or perceived), gun control debates, and other general foolishness and insanity going on in the world, I can't help but wonder if things would be made better if we could just get away from it all and live life how we want to without the interference of individuals, groups, ideas, social mores, and lifestyles that are diametrically opposed to our own. You can take a vacation to get away, but eventually you'd have to come back or interact with "the real world." How would our lives change for the better, and how would they change for the worse? What do you think @ellowrites?
