The newest Short story I am working on:
I slowly walked down the hallway as I looked into each cell and checked on each guest. More like accounted for them. I could care less about how they felt. In fact, our new guests were better seen, not heard. I was in Reception, it is the first stop for news prisoners. The inmates are packed into small cells while they await to be processed into the facility. Each inmate will be assigned a number. The process of stripping their identities away have already begun. Their property was seized, next their name is reassigned, and lastly, the inmates will wear identical clothing. Freedom of expression is a fallacy. The facility is a dark, dark place. It holds the worst the world has to offer, the beasts within were deemed to be unfit for society. They were removed from society against their will. The old, cracking paint and rusted doors have been abused for years, reflected the quality of its clientele. Old bloodstains were visible. Obvious places where the facility’s guests were…less than cooperative.
