Whimsical Mystery: Cool Creek
The entire day was foggy for me to be honest, my mind was filled with thoughts of last night. Trying my best to replay every detail. Wanting to remember everything that happened. She took my breath away simply by laying there and letting me read to her, but obviously there was much more that replayed in my head through the unbearable heat.
The very contour of her body was implanted in my head. The way her hair smelled and the way the light from fireflies glisten off of her damp skin. The way her chest barely moved as she breathed slowly through the night. The delicate touch of her fingers on my stomach as she gripped tighter as the night went on. Even the cute little muffled snore she occasionally let out. I had to remember every detail.
Yes indeed every thought was reserved for her and last night. Sowing the field one seed at a time on hands and knees can be tedious but with her in my head it seemed to let the day fly by. I could hear a dull sound every now and then but I simply put it out of my mind until it was loud enough for me to understand what it was.
“Get your head out of your ass boy, your sowing too far” I look over and see my father shaking his fist at me. Looking down I see that I’ve moved two and a half feet outside of the field without realizing it. She was so deep in my mind that I wasn’t paying attention to what I was doing at all. Getting back on track and finishing up for the day I headed to the creek with about an hour of daylight left.
The heat of the day was still intense but the creek always seems cool so it was a perfect chance to clean the dirt off which completely cover every inch of my very existence. Ducking behind a bush I stripped off my clothes and took a quick look around to ensure I was alone. Confident of my privacy I jumped into the creek and started washing off the dirt and mud and enjoying the cooling effect of the gentle flowing water.
Just as my confidence grew it was quickly dashed hearing a noise off in the distance. As it got close I soon got a look at the guilty party that was apparently watching me...it was her. Stepping into the open next to the creek bed, she dangles my clothes in her hands with her mischievous crooked smile letting out a giggle. “Hey those are mine” I stated, curious what she had in mind. “Well come get them then if you want them back”
“You don’t think I will do you?” I said as she sat down on a near by log. “I think your too shy to let me see you naked” she said as she giggled again at the situation. I hated to admit it but she was right but I also didn’t want her to get the best of me in the moment. Just as I started to walk out of the water it occurred to me that I’d become somewhat aroused which caused me to duck under the water real quick.
“Humm so you are shy, just a big chicken aren’t ya?” She teased as I tried to conceal my current state. “Well no it’s just I..I’m enjoying the cool water at the moment” that was my best response and not a good one to be honest. “I think your hiding something” she quipped with a smile. “You just don’t want me to see you in the buff” she added as I tried my best to clear my mind.
“Fine I’ll come out but you have to give me my clothes back okay?” I said knowing she would see why I was hiding. “Okay deal” as much as I tried I simply was unable to relax and “fix” my problem. Taking a deep breath I started to slowly move towards the shore to where she was sitting. As I ascended to the creeks edge I watched as her gaze made its way down and her crooked smile came back.
Walking up to her, she dropped my clothes on the ground as her eyes remained focused. Stepping up to her I stood there looking at her for what felt like forever before letting out a little cough. “Can I have my clothes back now?” I asked, her eyes still staring. Snapping back into reality she looked up at me with the crooked smile now faded away replaced by a more serious look. “Can I be honest with you?” She asked with a soft tone. “Yes you may” She looked back down and back up at me again before taking a deep breath.
“I’ve never seen a naked man before, I’ve never seen...”
She reached out and ran her hand down my stomach letting out a quiet gasp before standing up and dashing off into the woods. As she slowly trotted off towards her house I could hear her yell “I’m sorry I have to go, I, I’m so sorry” she vanished into the woods leaving me at the shore all alone. She was gone again but this time it was her who would be haunted by the encounter. But it wasn’t the last time I saw her that day....
