A conversation about food while eating dinner
"I love food," he said.
"Me too," she answered back.
"I love you more though," he replied.
"I don't believe that."
He stopped pulling the rib meat from the bone & looked at her.
"I do," he said, hurt, "I love you more than any old fodder."
He dropped the unfinished rib bone onto the plate in front of him.
"You're more savory than this bbq, not to mention sweeter than sin."
"Really?," she doubted, "prove it then & stop eating."
He stared at her, not quite sure where she was going.
"Instead of eating food," she continued, "we're going to talk about it."
He smiled now, still confused & thinking,
This better not be a trick.
"Ok," he said, "ladies first."
"Which is better; onion rings or fries?"
"You know I hate onions."
She blinked at him, surprised.
"I didn't know that actually."
"My turn," he dismissed, "favorite entrée."
"I think my favorite is spaghetti," she said, not knowing what else to say.
"That's boring," he retorted, "I thought you were a foodie."
"That's you. It's why I always let you decide where we go eat."
He remained in silence, thinking for a moment, then began eating again.
"I guess that means you quit?"
"Yeah," he confirmed, "you & your game."
