I am alive
A blaze of fire burned through my world
shattered my volition, my mind.
Everything gone, mere ashes left behind.
Burning pain shakes me from my sleep,
awakes me from the paralysis
Within in the cataclysm’s ash, an ember of faith remains
emitting warmth and smoldering with hope,
planting the seed of confidence and promise.
No longer shall I tremble, no longer shall I deprive
myself of the pain that makes me feel so alive.
A newborn passion ignites within,
the ashes will give way to flame
doubts engulfed, pain incinerated
And like a phoenix I shall rise again,
illuminated by the light of virtue
I. Am. Alive.
