Please consider supporting the kickstarter for the "We Shall Be Monsters" anthology, edited by award-winning writer, teacher, and editor Derek Newman-Stille. This collection of horror short stories will be published to honor Mary Shelley's most famous creation, the horror novel "Frankenstein: Or, The Modern Prometheus."
My short story, "The Last Confession of Dottore Gepetto," is included in this collection.
It is a retelling of the Pinocchio story through a gothic horror lens.
The premise is very simple: what if Gepetto, Pinocchio's father, was a colleague of Mary Shelley's Victor Frankenstein? What if Gepetto created a homunculus of his own, but instead of using dead bodies, he used steel, copper, and bronze? What kind of creature would this be, and what sort of havoc will it wreak once unleashed upon the world?
