White people love to throw quotes out from MLK when they want to dismiss or quiet Black people talking about oppression or systemic racism.
"What would MLK say to #BlackLivesMatter youth stopping traffic?"
"What would MLK say about all the disrespect and lack of following the laws in place?"
He'd probably say," I can't believe it's been over 50 years and this shit is still happening to my people."
He'd probably have another 29 arrests by now.
He'd probably have seen his children grow up. He'd see America's first Black President and he'd call out America for following his term with a racist and sexist man who's filling his cabinet with anti-American representatives.
But none of this happened because he was assassinated when he was 39 years old in Memphis, Tennessee.
He didn't casually die.
He was murdered by a white supremacist/s who wanted him and his cause silenced.
And we should never forget that.
