So The TVS Monthly Nanofiction Bonanza #tvsmnb had a good run, but I'm calling it here at the end of year two. Thanks so much to everyone who read and contributed! I still plan to collect those stories and publish them, though, as with all my publishing endeavors, the timeline is super fuzzy
Now I'm launching a new thing, this one weekly, not monthly. And it goes like this ...
Welcome to The TVS Weekly Short Writing Challenge! #tvsweeks
The general challenge:
Write a short piece each week. Since today is Thursday and there's no time like the present, imma say Thursday to Thursday.
Short stories are generally estimated from 1.5k to, like 20 or 30k. If you end up on the longer end, I suggest breaking it into 1.5k-parts for posting, but you do you.
I don't know about poetry or dramatic writing, so you're at your own limit there. But all forms of writing are welcome!
You can write anything you wish, though I may throw out prompts, restrictions, or themes for you to gnaw on in the form of optional challenges. Like so ...
This week's optional challenges:
Switch point of view twice without directly indicating that you have done so.
Begin with the denouement, then write most of the story as aftermath.
Adopt a stylized setting wherein technology and culture are based on scavenged junk.
Get those pens scribblin'!
