So in today's office antics...
I was in a relatively good mood this morning, despite it being Monday. I went to the office kitchen to put my lunch in the fridge. I went to get water from the cooler, and it was just about empty. So, I made the mistake of doing a good deed.
When it needs it, I'm the kind of person that will put on a new jug of water. So I did what I normally do and change the bottle. I took the old one off, put it with the empty ones, and lifted a full jug onto the table, careful to life with my legs.
I tear off the top of the bottle, then flip the bottle onto the cooler. It's at this moment that Monday attacked. At the same time, the left side of by back started to painfully seize up, and the water in the jug started to rapidly flow out of the bottle and overflowing the cooler. A loud sucking sound quickly alerted me there was a big crack in the bottom (now the top) of the 5 gallon jug. So, I painfully grabbed the jug, picked it up and swung it into the sink behind me, leaving a small waterfall-like trail as I swung around.
Just as I finished my painful gymnastics, people wandered in looking for their coffee, and just stared as I was unrolling brown industrial paper towels to mop up the mess. Did they help? Of course now. They stood there like deer with 'what do we do' in their eyes. A couple got coffee and walked away. One got his coffee, and offered to put a new jug on the cooler after I cleaned up everything myself. At this point I was SO done, I walked back to my cube, and didn't get any water.
No good deed goes unpunished. Just ask my back.
