Some words on the Combining of the Streams
I've seen some agitation and concern over the planned unification of the "Following" and "Starred" streams.
The combined streams are just a waypoint, a temporary stop on the way to a richer, and ultimately more satisfying, we hope, means of organising our content here on Ello. A confluence of the rivers, past which we flow, on our merry way to the oceans. Slowly boiling and acidifying under a constant onslaught of industrial carbon, filtering down slowly from warmer, stormier, more uncertain skies. Through which the uncomprehending and selfish elites of a temporary blip of humanity shriek at a thousand kilometers per hour over fish-emptied seas, to their oh-so-important Global Campaign Management meetings for the next Fitwatch or FruitCo FondleSlab, or to arrange for the immolation of another million hectares of rainforest, or to stand before a teeming mass of info-dope-addled fans, screaming outrage and nonsense. While the Sun slowly spins above it all, inexorably consuming its hydrogen fuel, waiting for the day, soon, in Cosmic time, in which it can swallow and vaporise all.
It's just a temporary thing, my friend. As is it all.
