I find myself torn between whether to treat Ello as a place for relatively personal chatter, or only public-presentation chatter. Not in terms of privacy, but in terms of whether people will consider what I'm saying signal or noise. I don't per se mind the idea of sorting things into categories of priority for reading, but I find the idea of lower-priority reading being "noise" very discouraging. As if whatever I had to say was just a bother, and I shouldn't have said it.
"Noise" relative to "Signal" doesn't, to me, mean "The thing I should still pay attention to, just not as much", it means "The thing I try to ignore, because it's in the way".
