"We are united. One source, one component, that is vital for our existence and inevitable end, has come into this photographic display to place perspective on this remarkable fluid. This is a demonstration of the blood’s capabilities to provide life, likewise causing death, because of changes in our biology, genetics and environment."
My name is Béatrice Posner. I'm a Swedish photographer and illustrator based in London, UK. I'm studying BA Photography at Middlesex University and in Sweden I studied Graphic Design as well as photography. The camera has been my foremost medium since I was twelve years old. My work revolves around blood and how it connects us as living beings, despite gender, skin color, religion, social class etc. I explore how our blood likewise provides life as well as causes death, and how we share these traits. I've used both human and pig's blood in these photographs, where some of them are mixed with chemicals to demonstrate it's decay and some are completely healthy to demonstrate life. Not knowing which one you're looking at and what happened to it, could you ever clarify the real differences between us?
