But is it real?
One of the most conclusive studies was done by a winemaker and statistician Robert Hodson.
He analyzed a series of wine competitions in California wanting to know and learn how he could make is wine win gold medals.
Doing so, he found that when you presented blindfolded judges, from the California State Fair Wine Competition, the same wine three times consecutively in a row, the judges ratings typically vary by four plus or minus points...
They couldn't even judge the same wine as being the same wine!
