An open letter to my teacher, Jason Ziols
I want to thank you for the way you have pushed me to strive for the best this year. You are the first and will most likely be the last teacher to be so involved in my essays and my opinions and the words I have to say, and that alone means the world to me. I never in my life thought of pursuing an English degree before your class. Your enthusiasm for the written word and literature has opened my own eyes to see the beauty in spoken or written language, whether rhetoric or otherwise directly said. I have always loved books and reading and writing. English has always been my favorite subject, and the one I'm best at. I've always appreciated the places that reading was able to take me and the emotions that it has made me feel. However, even with how much I love books and writing, it was you that inspired me, in a way, to truly look at what the author wanted me to see. So, as a last word, thank you for everything you have done to help me strive this year. Thank you for the extra time spent with me to look over every detail, for every question, and for every answer I had to find for myself.
