Eagerly awaiting spring to be fully here. We actually had snow Saturday and it was 32F degrees this morning, with frost on everything. But after taking daughter to work i took a 'walk about' around my place. Everything green...one or two small, ground cover type plants blooming. The frost had melted leaving droplets everywhere...even on the Trapdoor Spider's web out in the meadow.
Haven't checked my reference book yet but think this is a Meadowlark. It took some patience to get a shot showing both yellow breast and head/beak shape--both helpful in identifying species. He was like that one relative who keeps hiding their face from the lens. Was hoping to get a good shot of a Red-winged Blackbird as quite a few of them about...but no luck today.
