@ideflex Good News suggestions. The first two i really like a lot as they often talk about various events encouraging people to be good to each other, as well articles explaining the benefits of diversity and creativity and kindness:
i used to get newsletter from UpWorthy, they have some interesting stories about people being decent humans to others. But i got really tired of 2 things:
1) Misleading headlines that 2) often tried to tell readers HOW to feel about the item--often with hyperbole: "What happened next will shock/amaze/astound you" Acckkk if i want someone to tell me how i should think/feel i'll watch what passes for 'news' these days. But that's a whole other discussion. (i get a BBC newsletter daily--outside perspective to US news is good to get)
i subscribe to EarthSky Newsletter, while the focus is often on astronomy visiting their homepage there are often interesting and 'good' news stories: Inventions/discoveries that will help us improve/clean the environment, treat ailments. (A bonus, for me, is that often it is some teenager or fairly young adult who comes up with new ways to filter or purify water without heavy equipment--so much 'bad news out there about young folks, it helps to get the good.)
i just searched 'good news stories' and found other options i'll want to check out...apparently both the Huffingon Post and ABC News have a good news pages. Then there's http://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/ and http://www.sunnyskyz.com/good-news which i just found today and have only skimmed...both seem to have a mix of things, SunnySkyz has various pages: News, Fun/Amazing, Inpirational, and photos and videos (many of animals) that should bring a smile.
