i was trying to find the attribution for the quote: "Life isn't measure by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away." and discovered it's a point of contention...one of those things that's touched a chord within so many of us, been used in some form by speakers and songwriters that there's a lot of debate about who said it first. i rarely use something without attribution, but this one i need to use because this week i want to ask you what were the circumstances of the last time life 'took your breath away'...in a good way...the 'world is beautiful or life is awesome'?
For me it was yesterday afternoon..couldn't get a photo because it went by so quickly, but am posting a related shot of birds at the feeder. We'd had a somewhat hectic day taking newest cat to be spayed and shopping in town, picking her up. Then electrician showed up to check out an outside socket i was having trouble with...i was standing on front stoop waving goodbye to him when one of the small wren-like birds that eat at our feeder year round actually landed barely two feet from me and chirped. i said 'why, hello', the little head cocked to one side another chirp and he was off. May sound silly to some but being a country kid who frequented the woods as a child i always feel flattered when wildlife seems unafraid of me. It happens rather often but i never cease to feel amazed by it.
So i'm Giving one more try...hard since i feel we've been discouraged from tagging too many people. i figure those following me will see and can share maybe tag one or two folks you think won't mind, hopefully point them this way but if i just get people thinking about that delicious 'Life is good feeling', remind them to pay attention and you start noticing more of them.
