i walk around my land frequently, but this time of year i try to do it daily regardless of weather of lingering mud. Because some blooms take a long time and others like these tiny barrel cacti come and go in a day or two. To give you an idea of the size---that 'big' rock in foreground is barely 5 to 5.5 inches wide. Meaning those cacti are barely Roma Tomato sized. These and the Cholla blooms are my favorite (i'll post when it blooms this year) because of the color.
the Prickly Pear cacti have been looking sickly possibly all the rain...but i did find one that seems about to put out some healthy flowers. Others had buds but did not look as healthy as this one. i need to check the ones up by western fence and see how they are as well as keep an eye on this one.
