@annemio @toshen Re revelations in death--i have a couple of dilapidated sheds on my land. i love the weathered grey wood more for how clearly the grain of the wood is revealed, so i photograph them. But this detail shot---i know knotholes are where there were branches but i'm still pondering why they don't weather at same rate as the surrounding lumber. The building this is from looks like it's trying for polka dots, because the knots still all look blonde. Perhaps density? Or moisture content? Or some enzyme that disappear from mature wood?
