"Colors of life". Acrylic on 30"x40" wood panel.
Concept painting of the future mural for New Americans Museum (NAM) - as part of a big social project "MUSE San Diego Museum Murals".
In a very beginning of this project I came to New Americans Museum to meet the director and the team. They have shown me around and introduced NAM's mission, philosophy, exhibits, events, people involved.
I was fascinated with the way multiple cultures and diversity were celebrated at this place, and even more - with the opportunities to speak up and express vision that were given to young new Americans. That is why I came up with the concept that represents the generation of "Now" - young, beautiful, promising people with various stories, backgrounds. Girls and boys who came from different places of the world to make their dreams come true, to evolve themselves in a new environment and to enrich American culture eventually. An amazing kaleidoscope of colors and shapes, hopes and dreams! Humans of various races with unlike traditions joined in a single union under the same flag. They are puzzle pieces of our bright future.
