2nd assignment for my Digital Illustration class was to draw an apple in Adobe Illustrator. Here is what I wrote with my submission.
"To create this apple I used the "Pencil Tool" along with the "Pen Tool" to draw the basic apple body, steam and leaves. I then used the "direct selection tool" to move the lines around to my liking. I used different layers to make the pieces of the image fit perfectly together. I used the "convert anchor tool" to make the curves work better for the apple.
The main issue I had was lining up the line strokes perfectly from layer to layer. I have actually been using Illustrator for a very long time so this is not new for me. I actually used the "Pencil Tool" along with the "Pen Tool" to help me achieve this apples looks.
I found this exercise very fast, simple, and yet fun. This is one of the best apples I have drawn with my mouse by hand instead of a Wacom Tablet."
