I’ve always thought that there were two kinds of people… Yeah, I know, everybody says this. But I’m not talking about “Beatles or Stones” or “Coke or Pepsi” or anything like that. I think on a base fundamental level you have two kinds of people. Those who build, and those who tear down. And I believe this. And yes… I know what your thinking, sometimes - scratch that, much of the time, you must tear something down before you can build something bigger or better in its place. Sure. Yes. Of course. But… When you look back at your life, you will have done either more building or more tearing down. I believe this. And theres no judgement here about which is better. It just is. Just is who you are.
I’m a builder. I’ve done some tearing down too , some bridge burning. Some good old fashioned wanton destruction. But mostly I’m a builder and it’s what I’m most drawn to.
For the last few months I’ve been working around a bunch of builders. And folks - it’s incredibly inspiring, let me tell you.
I took this picture yesterday afternoon and for me it just sums up how I feel about these things. If you want to build something then your gonna have to reach over your head. Your gonna have to do some heavy lifting. Your gonna have stare hard into the fire and sometimes you’ll have to keep pushing on when you don’t have all the answers or the security they provide. You have to trust. And you have to believe. And you have it keep working.
Ok, enough pontificating. Back to work.
