I grew up in a small town near the sea in Northern Germany. When I was 20 I moved to Berlin where I still live. Since I got my first analogue camera when I was a child I photograph my world. When I was older I started to photograph with digital cameras and tried to find some “otherworldliness” and special perspectives in my everyday life.
I created different techniques with light, glass, water and colour to work with the images and change them to something surreal. When my grandfather gave me his old Leica camera I came back to analogue photography.
For this series I pre-exposed my films in different ways and I love it that I don`t know the result before, the image is always something new, a motif that was never there before. I like wideness, maybe because the characteristic of my home is wideness, so the sea and the sky are often my motifs. And I like wideness, because I can lose myself there and at the same time I can find myself again.
