Game No. 040 — May 18, 2017
Thursday night’s contest in Oakland got off to a fast start with Boston putting two runs on the board in the first inning. The A’s answered right back with two homers and three runs in the bottom half of the inning and continued to dominate Hector Velázquez in his major league debut, ultimately charging him with nine hits and six earned runs.
For every Red Sox game this season, we will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red.
